The Savannah Logistics Innovation Center (SLIC) unites forward-thinking experts, businesses, and transformative technology to achieve tailored solutions for companies, elevate dependability, optimize supply chain effectiveness, and foresee changes in the dynamic logistics and supply chain sector. SLIC’s core aims involve increasing reliability, maximizing efficiency, anticipating industry shifts, keeping pace with changes, and accelerating innovation.

History and Overview of  Savannah Logistics Innovation Center

In May 2018, Savannah was designated a Logistics Technology Corridor by the state of Georgia followed by a 2021 resolution defining the corridor region to include not only Chatham County, but Bryan, Bulloch, Effingham, Liberty, and Screven counties. This led to the creation of the Savannah Logistics Innovation Center (SLIC), a public-private partnership between Georgia Southern University and the Savannah Economic Development Authority along with other partners: the Georgia Ports Authority, Savannah State University, Georgia Power, Savannah Technical College, Foram and the Georgia Department of Transportation.

• Establishing Savannah as an innovation leader in the supply chain and logistics technology industry

• Creating a supply chain and logistics accelerator program in the Savannah region. The program will support and cater to the needs and demands of the local and regional logistics community.

• Driving business and growth opportunities for local corporate ecosystem in supply chain and logistics startups.

• Fostering supply chain research opportunities for our region’s higher education.

Savannah Logistics Innovation Center’s Services and Programs

For Entrepreneurs:

In March 2022, SLIC announced a partnership with Plug and Play Tech Center in Savannah. Their partnership aims to bring startups and corporations to Savannah’s Coastal Georgia Center for a three-year logistics accelerator program. The events include pitch expositions focused on supply chain, logistics, and advanced manufacturing disruption. Startups from all over the world innovating in and around the work created by the Georgia Ports come to Savannah to participate in the program.
