History and Overview of Savannah Logistics Innovation Center
In May 2018, Savannah was designated a Logistics Technology Corridor by the state of Georgia followed by a 2021 resolution defining the corridor region to include not only Chatham County, but Bryan, Bulloch, Effingham, Liberty, and Screven counties. This led to the creation of the Savannah Logistics Innovation Center (SLIC), a public-private partnership between Georgia Southern University and the Savannah Economic Development Authority along with other partners: the Georgia Ports Authority, Savannah State University, Georgia Power, Savannah Technical College, Foram and the Georgia Department of Transportation.

Savannah Logistics Innovation Center’s Services and Programs
For Entrepreneurs:
In March 2022, SLIC announced a partnership with Plug and Play Tech Center in Savannah. Their partnership aims to bring startups and corporations to Savannah’s Coastal Georgia Center for a three-year logistics accelerator program. The events include pitch expositions focused on supply chain, logistics, and advanced manufacturing disruption. Startups from all over the world innovating in and around the work created by the Georgia Ports come to Savannah to participate in the program.
